Driving anxiety can shrink your world. These guided audio sessions help you calm down before you set off, stay steady on the road, and get through a tough moment.
- 3 sessions: before, during and tough moments
- Start it, lock your phone, eyes on the road
- Pairs with the Fear Ladder to rebuild confidence

Support for anxious drivers
Maybe it’s highways, bridges or being far from home. Maybe it’s the fear of panicking at the wheel. Driving anxiety is common, and it can make everyday trips feel huge. Learn about fear of driving.
The Driving sessions are guided audio for three moments: the anxiety before you drive, staying steady while you drive, and grounding when a moment gets hard.
Safety first
Your eyes and hands stay on the road. Choose and start your session before you set off, then lock your phone and put it away.
Keep the volume low enough to hear traffic. Follow local laws on phone use. If you ever feel you can’t drive safely, pull over somewhere safe first.
How it works
Step 1: Open Driving
Before you get in the car, go to Feel Better Daily on Home and tap Driving.
Step 2: Choose a session
Pick the one that fits: before you drive, while you drive, or a tough moment.
Step 3: Listen to the Therapist Voice
Hear a short sample first.
Step 4: Tap PLAY NOW, then lock your phone
The audio keeps playing with your screen locked. No need to touch your phone.
Step 5: Drive, or pause first
Use the pre-driving session while parked. Use the others only when it feels safe.
Step 6: Check in once you’ve parked
Rate how you feel from 1 (Panic) to 10 (Calm).

What’s inside

3 guided audio sessions
For pre-driving anxiety, anxiety during the drive, and emergency grounding moments.
Lock-screen playback
Start before you set off. No screen needed.
Therapist voice samples
Hear the voice before you drive.
Why this can help
Avoidance keeps driving anxiety going. The less you drive, the scarier it gets.
Calming your body before you set off can lower anxiety enough to get started. A steady voice on the road gives your attention an anchor.
Pair the sessions with the Fear Ladder to build back step by step: a short drive on a quiet street, then a little further each time.
- Lowers anxiety before you start
- Gives your attention an anchor on the road
- Supports gradual steps back to driving
Check in. See what works for you.
Rate how you feel from 1 (Panic) to 10 (Calm) before and after, and see what works for you.
Scale from 1, Panic, to 10, Calm. Higher is calmer.

Questions about driving anxiety
Is it safe to listen while driving?
Only start a session before you set off, then lock your phone and put it away. Keep the volume low enough to hear traffic, and follow local laws. If you feel you can’t drive safely, pull over first.
Are the driving sessions free?
The driving sessions are part of Premium, which starts with a free trial: 7 days on the monthly plan, 14 days on the yearly plan. Free forever in the app: SOS panic relief, the CBT Thought Journal and Anxiety University.
What if I have a panic attack while driving?
Pull over when it’s safe. Once you’re stopped, use the emergency grounding session or tap SOS. Only drive on when you feel steady.
What causes driving anxiety?
It can follow a scary experience, grow from panic attacks, or build slowly through avoidance. Read our guide to fear of driving.
Should I use the Fear Ladder too?
Many people find it helpful. The Fear Ladder turns “drive again” into small, planned steps you can take at your own pace.
Does it replace driving lessons or therapy?
No. It’s a self-help support. If fear of driving is affecting your life, a therapist or a patient driving instructor can help too.
