Why breathing helps

When you’re anxious, your breathing often speeds up and gets shallow. That’s part of the fight-or-flight response, and it can make your heart race even more.

Slow, steady breathing sends your body a different signal: it’s okay to slow down. Box breathing gives you a simple, even rhythm, so you don’t have to think.

Practiced daily, it becomes a skill you can reach for when anxiety spikes.

  • Slows a racing breath
  • Gives your mind a simple rhythm to follow
  • Builds a calming habit you can use anywhere

Go gently

If you feel dizzy or light-headed, stop and breathe normally. If you have a heart or lung condition, check with your doctor before trying breathwork.

Use it alongside therapy

Many therapists teach slow breathing as a first coping skill. The app gives you an easy way to practice it every day, between sessions.
